Saving Snapshots to a Folder
Synapse uses Snapshot to save and restore display states for images in studies. Snapshots represent the state of the study at the date and time that you took the Snapshot. This includes available annotations, series, and other information present at the date and time when you saved the Snapshot.
Whether initiated automatically or manually, Snapshot saves image information such as the following:

You can save Snapshots in two different ways:
- User-created Snapshots are stored by default in the My Collections folder, but you also have the option of storing them in custom Collections folders that you create.
- Auto-created Snapshots, which are configured in User Settings, save the image information for when you open the study again.
The Snapshot icon is available in Worklists, Collections, and in the Viewer toolbar.

Steps
- Right-click
Snapshot
on the Viewer toolbar to verify the folder you are saving Snapshots to. The Save Snapshot dialog box displays.
- Do any of the following:
If you want to do this...
Choose this option...
Change the name of the Snapshot.
Enter a new name in the Name text box.
Note:
- Synapse automatically saves the Snapshot name using the date and time.
- You can name the Snapshot and save the Snapshot in a Collections folder.
Change the folder location of the Snapshot.
Select My Collection or a custom folder from the Collection drop-down list.
Note: Synapse saves this Snapshot folder location for any additional Snapshots.
Save your changes.
Click Save.
Results: Synapse saves this Snapshot to the selected folder location. If you create additional Snapshots, Synapse saves the additional Snapshots to the same folder.
- Optional: Click Snapshot
to save additional snapshots to the selected folder.
- Optional: To update existing Snapshots do to any of the following:
- Click the Snapshot name
to display a list of all existing Snapshots.
Public Snapshots and private Snapshots are separated by a line and display in alphabetical order. - Do any of the following:
- Click
Edit
.
- Enter a new Snapshot name.
- Click Save.
- Click
Delete
.
- Click Yes to delete the Snapshot.
- Click the Snapshot name to display a drop-down list of all the Snapshots.
- Select Initial State to revert the study to the original state.

Results
Current layout and image properties are saved to a Snapshot and can
be accessed from the drop-down list of available Snapshots.
