Reserving an Unread Study for Another User

With appropriate privileges, you can reserve a study from the Unread Studies Worklist or the Global Unread Studies Worklist for another user.

  • The option to reserve an unread study for another user is only available if you have appropriate permissions. See your System Administrator for more information.
  • The user you select in the Assign To text box is the default option for the remainder of your session.
  • You can reserve multiple studies with one action. However, the selected studies must be unreserved. You cannot reserve a mix of reserved and unreserved studies.

Note:

For Synapse 7.1 and subsequent releases, Synapse supports updating study reservations for multiple studies and all associated accession numbers returned by PowerScribe when either Reserve for Me or Reserve for Others dictation options are enabled for the data source for the current study. The All Reservations and All Reservations Global worklists include all of the reserved associated studies.

Steps

  1. Right-click on the preferred study and select Reservations. The Reservations dialog box displays.
  2. Optional: To reserve multiple unread studies, press and hold down the CTRL key, select the studies you want to reserve, right-click, and select Reservations.
  3. Click to place your cursor in the Assign To text box and start typing or click the arrow to display the list of Individuals.
  4. Change the Duration, leave it as is, or select No Expiration. You can set the Days field to a maximum of 30 and the Hours field to a maximum of 23. The default duration is configured in SWAT.
  5. Optional: Use the comment box to add comments.
  6. Click Save to reserve the study or click Cancel to close the dialog box without reserving the study.

Results

  • Synapse reserves the study for the duration you selected.
  • A reservation icon displays for the study on the Unread Studies Worklist or the Global Unread Studies Worklist.
    • Hover over the reservation icon to view a tooltip that displays Reserved to, Reserved by, Comments, and time elapsed since setting the reservation.
  • The reserved study displays in the All Reservations Worklist, and the study count increases by one.
    • The Assigned by, Assigned to, Resv. Creation Timestamp, and Comments columns display the reservation information.
