Optimizing Network Usage

You can change image quality and network usage options when your network performance is slow.

Steps

1. From the Viewer, click Tools to display the drop-down list.
2. Select Optimize Network Usage to enable or disable the option.
   • When enabled, Synapse highlights the option in green.
   • When disabled, Synapse removes the green highlighting.

Note:

Because images are transferred by JPEG compression, Synapse displays the following on the image text overlay: Clinical Image. If you select the Optimize Network Usage setting with Hybrid Mode, Hybrid Mode uses clinical PNG images. Synapse uses clinical JPEG images for images that are not cached on Hybrid Mode.

Results

Synapse automatically updates the Viewer with the new options.
