Ensuring the Browser Zoom Factor is 100 Percent

True size calibration settings should always be determined with your browser zoom factor set to 100 percent. Having the browser zoom factor set to 100 percent is crucial to maintaining true size calibration. See Calibrating Monitors for True Size Image Display.

Note:
  • The browser zoom factor must always be kept at 100 percent. Using a zoom factor other than 100 percent can adversely impact the accuracy and usage of preset calibrations. If the zoom factor is not 100%, True Size is not available and images might be blurred.
  • Synapse displays an alert message if the browser zoom is not set to 100% when you initially open a study.
  • To recognize this setting change, you must restart the Synapse Desktop Agent by signing out and back in.

Browser

When you change the zoom factor, Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge temporarily display the current zoom factor in the upper-right corner. Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge display a magnifying glass icon when the zoom factor is not set to 100 percent. Hover over that magnifying glass to display the current zoom factor. The Settings menu always displays the current zoom factor.

Steps

  • To change the zoom factor in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, press CTRL + (increases zoom) or CTRL - (decreases zoom).

Note:
  • For best image quality, it is important to ensure that the browser zoom level is set to 100% at all times.
  • Even if you do not manually change the browser zoom level, another application might change it without your knowledge. 

Additional Information

  • Status bars do not display in dialog boxes. When opening a True Size Calibration dialog box, ensure it was opened from and on the same monitor as the window that is set to 100 percent zoom at the time.
  • The CTRL + 0 shortcut key will change a window's zoom factor to 100% if all of your workstation's monitors have a similar resolution.
  • On a mixed-resolution multi-monitor system, the CTRL + 0 shortcut key might change the zoom factor to something other than 100 percent.
  • To verify the zoom factor is 100 percent, check the status bar or the main browser window's Settings menu.
