Dynamic Reading Protocols Overview
Dynamic reading protocols are user specific and allow you to change your dynamic reading protocols to best suit your needs. See Configuring Dynamic Layout.
Synapse supports dynamic reading protocol options for stress echo procedures.
- When Advanced Reporting is enabled and the Read DICOM headers for AR Studies only option is set to Yes, Dynamic US group by view and group by stage are available only for AR Stress echo studies.
- When Advanced Reporting is enabled and the Read DICOM headers for AR Studies only option is set to No, Dynamic US group by view and group by stage are available for both AR and non-AR Stress echo studies.
- When Advanced Reporting is not enabled, Dynamic US group by view and by stage are unavaliable.
- See your System Administrator for more information.
An advantage of dynamic reading protocols is viewing mixed modalities for current and priors for which a reading protocol does not exist. For example, if you have a CR study as the current and a CT study as a prior, using dynamic reading protocols allows Synapse to display the current in a 1x1 page layout and the priors in a 2x2 page layout:

Dynamic Reading Protocol Options
You can change the following options for a dynamic reading protocol:
- Apply Tools to
- Text overlays
- View content
- Tile format
- Group By (For Stress Echo only)
- Page layout
- Comparison arrangement
Synapse generates the name of the dynamic reading protocol in the Reading Protocols drop-down list, located in the Viewer toolbar, with the following information:
Dynamic > Current modality > Prior modality
For example, if the current is a CT and the prior is a CR and MR, Synapse displays Dynamic CT, CR, and MR in the Reading Protocols drop-down list.
