Adding a Varicosity to a Vessel Diagram
Use the varicosity tool in a vessel diagram to add a varicosity to a venous diagram.
- You can add aneurysms, stents, and thrombi to a varicosity.
- You cannot add grafts, filters, or collaterals to a varicosity.
Steps
- Click
Varicosity
on the vessel diagram toolbar.
- Click the point of origin for the varicosity on an existing vessel.
A red edit point displays to indicate the first point of the varicosity. - Click the varicosity path.
Each click adds a new point to the varicosity path. - Click the last point again to create the varicosity.
- Do any of the following:
- In the properties panel, click the Segment tab.
- Update the properties as necessary.
- The varicosity name must be unique.
- See Adding an Aneurysm.
- Click the Varicosity
tool or press the ESC key.

Results
Synapse replaces the points with a varicosity and displays a generic label to identify the new varicosity. Synapse adds the properties for the user created varcosity in the Segment tab of the properties panel.
