Adding a Prior Stent

You can manually add a prior stent to document a previous treatment for both invasive and non-invasive vascular studies.

Steps

Add a prior stent and lesion.

  • Click the Prior Stent tool on the vessel diagram toolbar .
  • Click the first point of the stent.
  • Click the second point of the stent.
  • Optional: Drag the endpoints to resize the stent.

Add a single-click prior stent to an existing lesion.

  • Click the Prior Stent tool on the vessel diagram toolbar .
  • Click the lesion. Synapse adds the stent to the lesion.
  • Optional: Drag the endpoints to resize the stent.
  • Note: You cannot use the single click method on bifurcated or trifurcated lesions.

Resize a stent without resizing the lesion.

  • Right-click the prior stent and select Resize Stent Only. The stent points display.
  • Click and drag the endpoints to resize the stent.

Note: Stents that are independently resized from their associated lesion, independently carry over as well.

Change a prior stent to a current stent (for invasive diagrams only)

Add a kissing stent.

Add a prior stent to a NIV study.

  • In the vessel diagram, select the lesion.
  • In the properties panel, select a Treatment Type from the drop-down list.

Cancel the Prior Stent Tool.

  • Click the Prior Stent tool or press the ESC key.

Results

A prior stent displays as grey, to distinguish it from the current stent.

After Synapse adds a prior stent to a diagram, the standard stent tool displays again on the non-invasive vascular diagram toolbar.
