Using GE EchoPAC

You can launch GE EchoPAC for selected images or all images in a configured study from the Viewer.

Prerequisites

To use GE EchoPAC, you must comply with the following prerequisites:

  • Have Synapse Desktop Agent installed on your workstation.
  • Have a licensed version of GE EchoPAC software installed and configured on your workstation.
  • Have a GE EchoPAC USB dongle attached to the workstation.

Note:

  • The context menu options for launching GE EchoPAC are only available when the integration plugin is active in Desktop Agent for configured procedures.

Steps

  1. Open a study with configured images from the Worklist.
  2. Select one of the following options for launching GE EchoPAC:

    Launch GE EchoPAC from the Viewer Icon context menu for selected images.

    • Right-click an image and hover over the GE EchoPAC icon to display the menu options, and select Launch on This Image.

    • Right-click an image and hover over the GE EchoPAC icon to display the menu options, and select Launch on All Images.

    • Press CTRL + left mouse click to select the check box for one or more thumbnails in the Series Picker.
    • Right-click one of the selected thumbnails to display the context menu and select GE EchoPAC > Launch on Selected Images.

    • Press CTRL + left mouse click to select the check box for one or more thumbnails in Anywhere Series Picker.
    • Right-click a thumbnail to display the context menu and select GE EchoPAC > Launch on Selected Images.

    Synapse displays a message while it is sending the images to GE EchoPAC and launching the application.

  1. Use GE EchoPAC to proceed with an advanced analysis, and then save the results to the DICOM Structured Report (SR) and DICOM Secondary (SC) files, which are then uploaded to Synapse. The file upload might take a few minutes. When Synapse receives the new content, the Arrival Notification icon displays.
  2. Note:

    Synapse displays a message if the file upload fails and attempts to resend the file. If any file uploads fail, the data and images files are copied to a 3rdpartyuploads directory in their respective Data or Images subdirectories. Synapse deletes files that are more than one day old and no further attempts to upload occur.

Results

When GE EchoPAC is launched again for a previously saved study, Synapse sends the GE EchoPAC DICOM SR file along with any newly selected images to GE EchoPAC for further analysis.
