Reallocating GPI Data

When you reallocate General Purpose Importer (GPI) data, Synapse moves the selected GPI data from one study to a destination study. The destination study must be an AR study. After the reallocation, Synapse displays the GPI data in the destination study. The GPI data no longer displays in the source study.

Note:

  • You cannot do the following:
    • Reallocate GPI data if either the source or destination studies are in Finalized or Corrected Status.
    • Reallocate the GPI data if the study is locked or opened in the Clinical Reporting Application (CRA).
    • Reallocate GPI data if the source or destination studies are CardioVascular (CV) migrated studies.
    • Move GPI data in Synapse PACS 4.x.
    • Rename or remove a GPI data folder.
    • Reallocate GPI data to or from a CV migrated study.

Prerequisites

  • You must have the Content Management privilege to access this tool through SWAT. Synapse logs all changes.
  • You must have the Reallocate GPI Data privilege to move GPI data.

Steps

  1. Open Content Manager. See Opening Content Manager.
  2. Optional: Click Split Screen to change the display to a split pane.
  3. Select Admin, All Patients, or All Studies to locate the source study using the Query By Example (QBE) fields.
  4. Tip:

Enter the Accession number for more precise results.

  5. Click the source GPI Data folder to display the list of importer files.
  6. Select the Importer file you want to move.
  7. Search using the QBE fields and locate the correct destination study for the reallocation.
  8. Tip:

Enter the Accession number for more precise results.

  9. Locate the destination GPI Data folder.
  10. Drag the Importer file to the destination GPI Data folder.

Results

Synapse transfers the GPI data to the destination GPI Data folder.

  • If a data definition can only contain one value and the destination value is null, Synapse moves the GPI data instance.
  • If a destination data instance contains a value, Synapse discards the source data instance and retains the destination data instance.
  • See Findings Controls for more information about data definitions and data instances.

Note:

If vessel diagram data exists in both the source GPI data and the destination study, you might need to do a reconciliation.

Advanced Reporting Results

For Advanced Reporting (AR) studies, Synapse moves the measurements to the destination study. Synapse removes the measurements and derived calculations from the source study.

Synapse does not move the measurements if the destination study is not an AR study.
